Overview About Padang
The city of Padang, which is famous for the legends of Sitti Nurbaya and Malin Kundang, is currently improving towards tourism development. This city has a museum located in the city center called the Adityawarman Museum, which has an architectural style in the form of a traditional Minangkabau house (Rumah Gadang), the Maharam Elephant model. In the front yard of the museum there are two rice barns. This museum specializes in the history and culture of the Minangkabau, Mentawai and Nias tribes. This museum has 6,000 collections. Then at Teluk Bayur harbor there are several tourist areas such as Air Manis beach, where the Malin Kundang stone stands. Apart from that, continuing south from the city center there are also the tourist areas of Caroline Beach and Bungus Beach as well as a three-star hotel class tourist resort located on Sikuai Island. Meanwhile, in the direction of Koto Tangah District, there is the Pasir Jambak beach tourist area, as well as the Lubuk Minturun natural tourist area which is popular in the Balimau tradition and is visited by many people, especially the day before the month of Ramadan.
